No News by Lonestar (1995)
I’d like to try “No News” by Lonestar. The record is in Bb, but I’ll do it in A for simplicity. Capo on first fret if you want to play along with the record.
Verse 1: A / A / A / A / D / D / A / A / G / E / A / E / Verse 2: A / A / A / A / D / D / A / A / G / E / A / A / Chorus: A G D F A G D F A G D F E / E / A / A / Verse 3: A / A / A / A / D / D / A / A / G / E / A / A / Chorus 2: A G D F A G D F A G D F E / E / Vamp out: A G D F over and over
In the A G D F vamp, the D chord uses the F# note on low string of the guitar (2nd fret). So you hear this descending line A G F# F. The bass is playing a D, though. It really is a D chord. Interesting, isn’t it?
