The Technical Academy is back! Equipped with new ruby code and the Bohlen-Pierce scale, they have resurrected their 1990 improvisational proof of concept, “Do Thing”. Here are 3 consecutive performances on the vintage Roland U-110 instruments.
After receiving some constructive feedback, the cadets abandoned sax and trumpet in favor of vibes. Several hours of rehearsals improved their performance, resulting in these 3 more inspired recordings:

Two identical parts are played, one slightly faster than the other, in the style of Steve Reich’s early works. Sonic Pi’s “pretty bells” are tuned to the Bohlen-Pierce musical scale.
